SHARIEFF INUKA RHAHEED-MUHAMMAD |
Rhaheed-Muhammad, who attends Fort Pierce Central High School, has reportedly been molesting his young cousin since she was 11-years-old, per police reports. The relative in question reportedly told investigators that the most recent encounter was consensual and it “just happened.”
Last October, the girl’s mother, who has not been identified, began noticing her daughter’s behavior was out of character. When she approached her daughter about it, the girl admitted that she was pregnant with her cousin’s baby.
The girl had an abortion and court-ordered testing of the fetal remains indicated Rhaheed-Muhammad as the father with a 99.99 probability.
The star football player selected the University of Louisville at a national signing day ceremony on February 5. The school released a brief statement regarding the charges facing Rhaheed-Muhammad. It read, “Coach Bobby Petrino is aware of the situation.” The University of Louisville would not provide any further comments.
The Fort Pierce Central football coach also declined to provide any comments surrounding his star player. Classmates at the high school were shocked at the allegations surrounding the Rhaheed-Muhammad incident.
Both the girl and her mother signed a prosecution waiver.
Rhaheed-Muhammad was released Tuesday from a juvenile detention center in Fort Pierce; further details surrounding the case have not been released.
