(VIDEO) WOMAN DAREDEVIL LEAPING FROM 52 STORY HOTEL HAS PARACHUTE MALFUNCTION AND SLAMS INTO CONCRETE WALL

MARIA STEINMAYR
A jumper who leapt off a 52-story hotel had a lucky escape after a parachute malfunction sent her slamming into the side of the building.
Austrian thrill seeker Maria Steinmayr was taking part in the Base Jump Extreme World Championship in Benidorm, Spain when her chute opened the wrong way.

The 22-year-old was flung into the concrete walls of the 210-metre high Gran Hotel Bali, eventually coming to a stop on a 10th floor balcony.

A British couple reportedly came to her aid after hearing her banging on doors for help.
The daredevil, one of 17 taking part in the annual competition, suffered only a broken nose and a few scrapes and bruises after the accident on Friday.
