Ray J doesn’t care if you think his new single is tasteless. The rapper did an interview with NYC’s Hot 97.1 radio station on April 8, and he said that he’s not “trying to create a war” with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

Ray J released his new single “I Hit It First” on April 5, and it’s all about how he had sex with his ex-girlfriend Kim way before Kanye ever did. Don’t forget they starred in a sex tape together, which leaked in 2007.
“It’s just a record, it’s putting a hundred on fifty,” Ray said about the song. “Yo it’s a song, it’s not about that. It’s about the concept, you know what I’m saying. It’s a great beat. They just gotta keep it on the surface. I’m not trying to create a war, it’s all love.”
When asked if he’s still in love with Kim, Ray J said that couldn’t be further from the truth.
“I think people are digging into it way too deep,” he said. “Like it’s a song, we just having fun. We not on that situation … It’s not a diss. We just having fun, bring it back to the song … all love.”

Some of the shocking lyrics are: “She might move on to rappers and ballplayers/But we all know I hit it first.

But many people thought maybe he still loved his ex because of this part of the song:

“And if you would’ve come back to me girl I know just how you do me.” 

Kanye is less than thrilled about the single.

“Kanye don’t condone broke ass, jealous [guys] who be trying to bite off he and Kim’s fame just to stay, wait, just to become relevant,” a source close to Yeezy said.
