They’re not very lady-like in defeat.
The wife of New England Patriots receiver Wes Welker pulled a Gisele, spouting off in a season-ending rant after the Pats went down in flames on Sunday night.
Anna Burns Welker, a former Miss Hooters International, ripped Baltimore Ravens great Ray Lewis in a scorching Facebook post, according to sports Web site The Big Lead.
“Proud of my husband and the Pats. By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis’ Wikipedia page. 6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay! What a hall of fame player! A true role model!” the bad-sport spouse wrote.
“My husband cannot f--king throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times,” Bundchen whined after the setback — punctuated by Welker dropping a possible game-winning pass from Brady.
Last night, she showed some regret for the outburst, and apologized by saying she’s “deeply sorry.”
“I let the competitiveness of the game and the comments people were making about a team I dearly love get the best of me,” she told the Larry Brown Sports blog.
Lewis had once been charged with murder in connection with two fatal stabbings outside an Atlanta nightclub in 2000.
He admitted he was with two pals when they got into the fatal brawl, but insisted he never saw the knife used to kill two men.
Prosecutors dropped the top charges against Lewis, who pleaded guilty to misdemeanor obstruction of justice, in exchange for his testimony placing his pals at the crime scene.
Both of Lewis’ friends were acquitted of murder. Lewis got probation.
The Ravens linebacker does have six kids by four women, but never wed.
The Patriots’ poor sportsmanship after the humiliating defeat also included an incident by coach Bill Belichick, who blew off an on-field interview request by CBS
“Bill Belichick makes it very easy for you to root against the Patriots. You can’t be a poor sport all the time. You’re not going to win every time. And He does this every time he loses,” CBS analyst Shannon Sharpe said., a Hall of Fame tight end
Last season, the Giants beat Brady and the Patriots in a 21-17 Super Bowl thriller.
Welker was among the Patriot goats Sunday, when he dropped a key third-down pass.
Belichick’s Patriots have won three Super Bowl titles — but none since they were busted in fall 2007 for taping the Jets signaling in defensive plays from the sideline.
The NFL took draft picks away from New England as punishment for the Spygate scandal.
