Comedian and rapper Katt Williams was arrested Wednesday night for assaulting a man outside of an Oakland hotel. Williams, who is in town for a stand-up appearance at the Oracle Arena on Friday, allegedly hit an 18-year-old Berkeley man over the head with a beer bottle.

According to the San Jose Mercury News, Williams has not been booked into jail, and was cooperative when the cops took him in for questioning.

This is, by far, not the first time Williams has had run-ins with the law. The comedian, probably best known for his role as Money Mike in Ice Cube's Friday After Next, has previously joked in his stand-up routines that he's been arrested 14 times in a three year period.

In 2006, Williams was arrested at LAX for carrying a concealed (and stolen) firearm. In 2010, he was accused of stealing $3,500 worth of jewelry and money from a Georgia residence while filming in Coweta County.

In 2011, Williams was arrested for allegedly assaulting a tractor driver (?!) by throwing rocks, sticks, and dirt clods at him. He's also had altercations at Wal-Mart, the Four Seasons hotel, and a Best Buy.
His most recent arrest comes right on the heels of a Nov. 9 lawsuit filed by Melissa Ishage, his former assistant, who claims Williams punched her and caused "serious and permanent injuries."

This incident, as well as the Oakland assault, are currently under investigation. Stay tuned, and if you're attending Williams' show this weekend, it'd probably be wise not to heckle him, lest this should happen again:
