P. Diddy is consistently entered on Forbes' list as one of Hip-Hop's wealthiest entertainers in the music industry. Recently, the Bad Boys front man had to fork over some of his fortune as part of a settlement for the infamous shooting incident that went down at Club New York back in 1999. Court documents revealed that the Hip-Hop mogul paid up to $850,000 of his money for his share of the settlement.
Diddy was in the nightclub partying with then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez and former Bad Boys Records artist Shyne. A verbal dispute broke out with fellow patrons which led to a shootout ensuing between Shyne, one of Diddy's bodyguards, and the party-goers they were arguing with. Three people were injured during the incident and they all sued Diddy, Shyne, and the nightclub.
Diddy was acquitted of gun charges but Shyne was ultimately imprisoned for a decade after being convicted for shooting two of the innocent bystanders. Even though Diddy has been forced to drop $850K on the settlement, that's still only a small drop in his deep bucket of wealth
