ALICIA KEYS EXPLAINS WHY SHE NIXED THE 'PUT IT ON A LOVE SONG' VIDEO WITH BEYONCE

Two years ago, Alicia Keys and Beyonce had their fans turnt up after it was announced that they not only did a record together, ‘Put It On A Love Song’, but they had also flown out to Brazil to shoot the video together.
Over the next few weeks, tons of photos from the music video were posted online with promises that the video would hit the net soon, however, months went by and the video never emerged.
Now, at some point, it became obvious that that video would never see the light of day, but I’ve always felt as though Alicia at least owed her fans an explanation of why a video with two of the biggest artists out at the time, just didn’t work.  You can just imagine the budget that was wasted on a video shot in the center of Rio.
This week, during an interview with Essence Magazine, Alicia finally explained the reason she canned the video:
Ohhh man! Y’all aren’t going to leave me alone about that! Sometimes with creative things [it] all comes together and it’s (makes perfection kissing noise) and sometimes things almost come together and it’s better to just leave it. So we love that song. We had a ball shooting the video. It just so happens that the whole thing, for some reason or another, didn’t quite come together so we just decided to leave it. And that’s what happened.
Such an ambiguous answer but something is better than nothing.
Hopefully, Alicia and Beyonce will work together again soon.
