Boxer reportedly spends 23 hours in jail cell a day
Boxer Floyd Mayweather's jail stint is reportedly deteriorating his health so much that he is going to ask for house arrest, according to Ad Rem Press.Floyd Mayweather's lawyer, Richard Wright, will reportedly ask the Las Vegas Justice of Peace as early as today for house arrest for his client.
The fighter's condition is deteriorating as he is segregated from general population in jail and spending 23 hours a day in a cell. He is also only allowed in a recreation area without any training facilities for 1 hour per day.
Excerpts from the motion filed on Monday state that the fighter is "consuming less than 800 calories per day, he has no room to exercise and is looking dehydrated on a daily basis."
Wright said in the motion that Mayweather would be willing to work with jail officials to find “an appropriate location” to serve house arrest if the judge agreed. It’s unclear if the appropriate location would be Mayweather’s 12,000-square-foot mansion in the ritzy Southern Highlands development that sports a walk-in closet bigger than his jail cell.
Mayweather is scheduled to be released in 2 months if the motion isn't granted.
