MTV2 is introducing its own version of the famed game show Hollywood Squares, with a hip-hop spin to it. This upcoming May 22nd, MTV2 with be launching Hip-Hop Squares.
The show will be hosted by Peter Rosenberg of NYC's Hot 97 radio. Aside from Fat Joe who will be appearing on each and every episode, a slew of other artists, comedians, celebs, etc, are set to appear on the show such as, Tech N9ne, Mac Miller, Nick Cannon, and Bam Margera.
The executive producer of the show, Paul Ricci, commented on why he believes the public will be attracted to the uniqueness of the show:
"Unlike a lot of other game shows, we think audiences are going to be tuning in not to see who wins, but to see what the personalities in the grid are going to say next. In a lot of ways, this isn't a game show—every episode is a party. You might get a question like, 'True or false: Birdman tries to wear at least $1 million worth of clothing everyday?' But you also might get a question like, 'True or false: Condoms have appeared in cave paintings,' which has absolutely nothing to do with hip-hop at all."
