Lil Boosie Pleads Guilty to Drug Charges,

BATON ROUGE - Torrance Hatch, aka Lil Boosie, pleaded guilty this morning to charges he smuggled contraband into two different prisons he was held in while awaiting trial on murder charges.
Hatch was sentenced to eight years hard labor for the charges, with credit for time served.
Investigators had accused him of trying to smuggle drugs once into Dixon Correctional Facility, and twice into Angola State Penitentiary.
Hatch is accused of first-degree murder in the death of Terry Boyd. Prosecutors said Michael Louding, who is accused in six separate murders, told them Hatch hired him to kill Boyd.
Today, Judge Mike Erwin denied a motion from defense attorneys to get Louding to testify in Hatch's defense. Erwin also denied a motion to get District Attorney Hillar Moore to recuse himself from the case.
Defense attorneys also asked to quash computer evidence seized by investigators and to toss a search warrant of
Hatch's home but Judge Erwin denied both of those motions too.
Hatch's defense also wants to suppress testimony from two others who prosecutors said identified Hatch from a photo lineup as the person who put the hit out on Boyd.

Dr. Conrad Murray sentenced to four years in jail for Michael Jackson's death

LOS ANGELES — Disgraced doctor Conrad Murray was sentenced Tuesday to four years behind bars for the “money-for-medicine madness” that killed Michael Jackson.

Judge Michael Pastor imposed the maximum sentence on Murray, and branded him a callous, reckless liar who violated his oath as a physician — and left the King of Pop to die alone in his bed.

The shamed cardiologist’s involuntary manslaughter conviction on Nov. 7 led to a state sentence that will — due to a new California law — be served in a county jail, meaning Murray will likely get off easy because of jail overcrowding.

“He’s expected to serve less than two years. He’ll probably be released in winter 2013,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said, noting Murray will be in a one-inmate cell. “He’ll be a keep-away inmate, who’s escorted everywhere he goes. He will not mingle with the jail population.”

But, the jail population aside, Pastor showed Murray no mercy. He sent him away to his sure-to-be-lonely confinement with a first-rate tongue-lashing, saying he gave Jackson an “experimental” treatment to make a buck.

“He has absolutely no sense of remorse, absolutely no sense of fault, and is, and remains, dangerous,” Pastor said as Murray looked on, stone-faced. “Experimental medicine is not going to be tolerated. And Mr. Jackson was an experiment.”

Pastor said Murray was not a victim, as his defense team argued at trial. The judge said Murray, 58, should have walked away when the sleep-deprived music legend offered to pay him $150,000 a month for nightly infusions of the surgery-strength anesthetic propofol.

The “Thriller” singer died from an overdose of propofol and other drugs in June 2009 on the cusp of his “This Is It” comeback tour.

“Dr. Murray was intrigued by the prospect. And he engaged in this money-for-medicine madness that is simply not going to be tolerated by me,” Pastor said.

Pastor took particular offense to the slurred recording Murray made of Jackson in the weeks before the singer’s June 2009 death. He said the only reasonable conclusion is that Murray violated Jackson's trust with evil intentions.

"That tape recording was Dr. Murray's insurance policy," he said. "I can't help but wonder, if there had been some conflict (between them) at a later time in the relationship, what value would have been placed on that recording?"

Jackson’s mother and siblings attended the sentencing, during which a family friend read a so-called victim-impact statement that showed the famous clan is still reeling from The Gloved One’s death.

“We still look at each other in disbelief. Is it really possible that he is gone? As Michael’s parents, we could never have imagined that we would live to witness his passing. It is simply against the natural order of things,” the statement<NO1>read by Brian Panish<NO> said, touching on the feelings of Jackson’s three kids. “As his children, we will grow up without a father, our best friend, our playmate and our dad.”

Murray’s lawyer made a futile attempt to paint him as an altruistic doctor who overcame a childhood of crushing poverty, put himself through medical school and opened a charitable clinic in a poor Houston neighborhood.

Murray was found in a Sherriff’s Department report to be “suicidal” while awaiting sentence. His lawyer, Ed Chernoff, said that no matter how much time he spends in a 5-foot-by-8½-foot cell, his medical career is over, and he will live the rest of his life in a prison of shame and self-punishment.

“Dr. Murray, whether he’s a barista for the rest of his life, whether he’s a greeter at Wal-Mart, he’s still going to be the man who killed Michael Jackson. That’s what he is,” Chernoff concluded.

Judge lectures Harlem families to take responsibility as he sentences drug dealer 'Jay Cash' to 20 years

A judge shocked his courtroom Tuesday when he turned the sentencing of five violent Harlem drug dealers into a lecture on parental responsibility.

"Gun violence in Harlem is the responsibility of that community," Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Edward McLaughlin said before sending Jaquan (Jay CashLayne, 21, the leader of the W. 137th St. gang, away for at least 20 years.

"If you do nothing, you are complicit," he said as he urged families to do more to turn their kids from crime.

"If your relative is not doing homework, if you are not going to their school and talking with their teachers, then you contribute to your child's and your community's destruction."

"If your relative has money, jewelry and nice clothes but no job, your relative is in the drug business," he added.

Layne was convicted last month of running his drug enterprise from behind bars at Rikers. He recruited teens, including preppy gun moll Afrika Owes. She was just 15 years old when she carried guns for Layne, her then-boyfriend.

There is "no gun genie" delivering weapons to kids, the judge continued. Guns "are in your homes, whether you know it or not and whether you are blind to it or not." The judge's words left the families of the five gang members aghast.

"I can't do this," Layne's sobbing grandmother said as she left court — mascara streaking her cheeks. "With all these kids being sentenced like this. I think he's prejudiced."

Another of her grandsons, Jahlyl Layne, 18, was sentenced to at least 7 1/2 years and up to 23 1/2 years behind bars for his role. A third grandson, Malik Layne, 19, previously pleaded guilty and is serving a sentence of 1 1/2 to four years in state prison, officials said.

The five were convicted by a jury last month for running the business that terrorized the area. Nine other gang members, including Owes, pleaded guilty.

"Go after the ones that passed the f------ guns — the adults!" screamed a second woman as she stormed out of court.

Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance Jr. — who watched silently as the eldest Layne was sentenced — has made fighting gangs a priority. Two other men, Jeffrey Brown, 20, and Haybib Mohammed, 32, face sentences of 15-to-life for the June 2008 to February 2011 crack business they helped run. Jonathan Hernandez, 19, who was convicted of conspiracy and a gun related shooting, faces at least 15 1/2 years.

Tiesha K - One voice, unheard

One voice, unheard

My words are intangible cannot be seen or touched
But the flow of my voice can contribute inspiration too much
As fluid to an empty soul to the movement of a stagnant pole
To the character of a stardom role my words will not freeze to the climaxed cold

Who did not make me cannot break me
Nor any other shackles can succumb or take me to a level that will not escape me
May be the words of a writer’s block
But that struggle revamps with a timing clock released from the smell of 90 degree boiling pot

Written or spoken it’s felt with passion of hoping
That the immediate release of this potent will have you less naïve and much open
These words may not make mountains move
But the eloquence of the soft spoken unheard voice will prove there’s nothing to lose

One voice unheard, too many
All types of lingos and other verbal communications have our minds blown to the max of entry
Via mail or telegraphic memory
It started with a ball point pen and a black and white composition notepad from me

Mentally inclined but visually unfocused to a world that isn’t mine
Have I been undermined to the impression that uncertainty resides?

Jim Jones' Ex-Manager Confronts Robbery Connection Speculation

Dipset rapper Jim Jones' former manager Yandy Smith has come forward to address the rumors claiming she is responsible for setting him up in a botched robbery attempt last month.
Smith claims she would never consider placing anyone, friend or enemy, in the way of harm.
"What really hurt me is the people that said it originally are people that have known me for years and they know my character, they know my personality," she said. "That's so far from who I am just on a personal level. I was very hurt that people would say that and then repeat it like they believe it. That is so not me and not anything I'd ever do to anybody ever... not even my enemy, let alone my brother." (XXL Mag)
In late October, Jim Jones came clean about the attempted robbery.
After rumors popped up about a violent altercation in Harlem, Jim Jones hit me up to share his side of the story. I asked Jimmy what happened on Monday and he summed it us as a "botched robbery." Jim: "I was in Harlem, alone, when three men stepped to me," he said. "Well the first guy, I beat the shit out of him, then the second guy jumped in with a metal pipe. I was so amped up I didn't even feel him hitting me with it. I was still putting a beating on the first guy. But when the third guy pulled out a gun, I got out of there. I left. Anyone with a brain would do the same." (Miss Info)
Miss Info also asked Jimmy what the motivation behind the botched robbery was.
I asked if Jimmy knew what they were after, and he brought up the fact that he's always wearing jewelry, but when I asked why he was out with his jewelry, in Harlem, dolo...Jim quickly conceded, "That was a stupid mistake. I know that. I'm human and that's where I slipped up. It won't happen again." Jim says that after the altercation, he went straight to the studio to work on his mixtape. And he says that he's fine, unscathed, and back at work today too. As for the rumors that this incident is related to another beef, he dismissed them and said they weren't worth addressing. (Miss Info TV)
Rumors initially surfaced claiming he was set-up by Smith.
It's been reported that Jim Jones has been jumped and robbed in Harlem by his ex-manager, Yandy Smith, boyfriend. Supposedly Jim Jones left an early morning studio session and got into an argument with Yandy's boyfriend. Later he went to one of Harlem projects to confront the same guy where he got chased by goons who beat him down. The beef stemmed from Jimmy being dumped by his manager, Yandy, because she could no longer vibe with his girlfriend, Chrissy. The two ladies reportedly got into a fist fight earlier this week. Let's hope this is the last of the violence and it doesn't escalate from here. (Street Dose)

Besiktas retires Deron Williams' jersey

Besiktas retired Deron Williams' No. 8 jersey as part of a farewell ceremony prior to Tuesday's game.

Williams played about a month-and-a-half with the Turkish League after signing a contract with Besiktas in July. But with the 149-day NBA lockout over and training camp slated to begin on Dec. 9, Williams will be returning to New Jersey and rejoining the Nets for the start of the shortened 2011-12 season.

"Amazing Besiktas jersey retirement ceremony before tonight's game," Williams tweeted, along with a video of the ceremony, which was posted on YouTube.
"Just had a great time with the fans for the last time at Besiktas Milingaz! Arena taking the team out for dinner! I'm going to miss them ..."

Williams didn't play in Tuesday's game. But he recently scored 50 points for Besiktas -- the first time he scored that many points in a game at any level of basketball.

"The best part about the game was how the fans really got into it," Williams told ESPN NewYork.com. "You could tell that once I had 40 with like three minutes left they were counting. Every time I would score, you could see the excitement in the gym. You could tell they wanted me to get 50.

"My teammates were into it too. Every time I came to the bench, my teammate Mehmet 'Memo' Yagmur was like, 'six more,' then 'four more,' and 'two more.'"

Williams said his surgically repaired right shooting wrist is feeling much better. His health was certainly a concern heading into the offseason.

"I don't want to jinx myself -- knock on wood -- but my wrist is so much better from where it was the last year and a half," Williams said.

"It was just so frustrating to me because I was told that all I needed to do was rest it, and when I did that, it never got better. I'm happy I had the surgery when I did, so now I don't have to worry about it and that's allowed me to play my game."

According to eurobasket.com, Williams averaged 19.7 points and 6.4 assists per game while overseas.

The star point guard became the first major NBA star to ink a deal with a professional club overseas as a result of the lockout.

Once he returns to the United States, speculation about Williams' future will begin to swirl. He's under contract for this season, but can opt out of the final one-year and $17.8 million of his deal prior to the start of the 2012-13 campaign.

T.I. on people criticizing Tiny for not taking the drug charge.
“I’ma tell you, 50 Cent and anybody else, we not gonn’a have no discussion about what my ole lady should’a, would’a, couda done for anything as it pertains to me,” begins his rant. “We ain’t gonn’a do that. I’m the only one in my family that’s gonna take a lick when it pertains to the legal system. Since me, none of my other family members have seen a jail cell. Nobody. I’m the last one. The buck stops here. I feel that a person that stands behind [his woman for a criminal charge] is a coward anyway.” VIBE: I doubt she would have gotten any time. T.I.: She wasn’t gonna catch it period, ’cause I’m there. That wasn’t even a consideration. Even if she asked me to I would’ve been like, “Nah, you trippin’.” So you didn’t feel you were more valuable to your family, employees and business partners on the street? That’s a discussion between me and another man. Not with the mother of my children. Not with the nurturer of my household.
